After founding the band in 2005, the Belmondo's primary and supreme goal was to make their 1st album and release it. Their first suspected hit track and video "Lesz, Volt, Van" was made in 2006. The song and the first image clip reached so high success that the main members of the Hungarian music world, Viva TV and Radio Danubius played them in preferential rotation.
The result was a nomination for the Viva Comet Award in the category of "Upcoming Band of the Year". The first album was finished and released in April 2006 with the title: "Él ilyen Alien" (it's a Hungarian/English pun).
At the end of the year 2006 they released their first english EP, called A DJ Broke Me Down with 6 songs on it. They played on a lot of festivals and in many club gigs - the number of their concerts were doubled in every year since then.
In 2008 the Belmondo released its 2nd album, called "Hogy nezel ram?" (How Do You Look At Me?). The famous hit "Szabadon" (Free) EP came to light in 2009 which got on the MR2's (Hungarian State Radio Station) 2009 selection CD, as well.
The band had the honorific request to cover a song of one of the greatest bands (LGT) in Hungary on MTV Icons Festival. And it happened again in three consecutive years with different bands and covers (EDDA, Nagy Fero). Still in 2008 Belmondo had an acoustic concert in the TV Show called Hangerõ, M1 (National Television of Hungary).
So far 2009 was the most successful year of the band, but this year. Just to mention the greatest hits: nomination of Fonogram (It's the Hungarian Grammy) "Best Hungarian Pop/Rock Album", MTV Icon Day, Red Bull Music Clash, Hungarian Song's Day, "MR2 akusztik" - studio gig on one of the greatest Hungarian radios (It's like the Hungarian BBC).
The third album was just released in August 2010 with the title of "Szájba rágót!" (also a Hungarian pun) and most of the Hungarian radios played the songs in rotation.
The most popular songs are Kiderült (Came to Light), Kedd van (Tuesday), Nekem az élet (The Life for Me) and Drága lányok (Dear/Material Girls) - to which their 8th video was made. The album was inspired by the mid '60-es' british sound, and also has a scent from the feelings of the hippy era, using 21st century's devices.
In 2011 their new song "Mikor" ('When?' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkkfmLwKhpU) has become rapidly one of the most wanted hits of the radios all around the country. Belmondo was also asked to compose the hymn of the Pannonia Festival 2011 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZstNSyHlx9g). The leader of the band - Zoltán Czutor - has just won the ARTISJUS Award 'The Lyricist of the Year 2011'.
Belmondo is one of the main and most wanted extraordinary artists of every Hungarian festival and has numerous successful gigs for nowadays.
Their clips, tv performances and concert videos that were made since than are available on their website www.belmondo.hu and www.youtube.com as well.
